Selective Mutism
Selective Mutism is a type of anxiety disorder that manifests in childhood but that can persist into adulthood. Individuals with Selective Mutism speak appropriately in one or more situations but not in others. For example, a child may be talkative at home but silent at school with teachers and peers.
