Failure to thrive/feeding disorder of Infancy or Early Childhood

Feeding Disorder of Infancy or Early Childhood is a condition where the cause of the failure to thrive is attributable to inadequate food consumption. Some infants and children’s caloric consumption is so small, that they gain weight and grow at a significantly slower than expected and recommended rate for optimal development. In such cases, the inadequate food consumption is not due to the unavailability of food or a medical condition but rather the child’s lack of ingestion of calories.
